Effective Board Practices: An Inventory for School Boards

Sustained effectiveness and efficiency depend on careful development of systematic work structures. Using TASB's Effective Board Practices: An Inventory for School Boards, we will help the team assess its current work structures in the areas of planning and governance, oversight of management, and board-superintendent team operations and advocay. We'll guide the team in a conversation to help it identify mechanisms for refining team effectiveness and developing an action plan for further instituting effective practices.

Facilitated Team Self-Assessment

Using our own assessment instrument specifically designed for Texas board-superintendent teams, we'll compile and analyze your individual ratings of your team's performance to develop a structure for a open, honest team conversation. We'll help you focus on what you want to improve and help you develop a plan for getting there. We can also help you develop your own instrument, or use use the Framework for School Board Development as an instrument to help you develop a plan to take your team performance to the next level.
