Inside HR Services

Is a staffing review in your future?

If your district is thinking about requesting a staffing review through HR Services this year, now is the time to call. We have contracts with five districts under way and nine more pending. Districts are scheduled in the order received so don’t delay. We expect more districts to seek staffing reviews this year.

Don’t let your membership expire!

Membership renewal fees for HR Services and DataCentral are due by Oct. 1. Invoices and information were sent to our program contacts in late August. If you have not seen yours, call 800-580-7782 and we’ll make sure you get a copy.

Make sure your district is included in the Superintendent Report for 2010–11

You can ensure that your district is included in this year’s Superintendent Report by returning your completed survey questionnaire This link opens in a new window.  to us by Sept. 10. If you subscribe to DataCentral, you must have submitted data to run custom superintendent compensation comparison reports. Thanks to the more than 500 districts that have already submitted their superintendent surveys!

Teacher salary surveys up next

The big whopper of all surveys (and the one that includes teachers), the District Personnel Survey, is being sent to our program contacts and salary survey contacts on Sept. 8. Completed surveys are due back to HR Services on Oct. 22. This survey is really very important and district participation dropped last year. Please help us out and take the time to complete the survey this year. We thank you and your neighboring districts will, too.

Time to plan for fall HR training

Lots of HR training events happen in the fall so check our training calendar This link opens in a new window. to find events being held at TASB and at your regional Education Service Centers. And don’t forget to sign up for the once a year TASB/TASPA HR Academy on Nov. 1 and 2, especially if you are new to the human resources department. It is the best thing you could do for yourself and your new career.
