USCIS delays changes to Form I-9

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has delayed final implementation of changes to Form I-9 This link opens in a new window. including the list of documents that can be accepted for employment eligibility verification until April 3, 2009. Until that date, districts must continue to use the existing Form I-9 which shows a revision date of June 5, 2007, and an expiration date of June 30, 2009. Employers that use the new form prior to April 3 could be subject to civil monetary penalties. Expired U.S. passports can still be accepted as employment authorization documents until the new regulations go into effect.
