Marian Strauss served for 34 years in public education, including 21 years as superintendent in Somerville, River Road, Wimberley, and Pine Tree ISDs. Strauss is a former executive board member of the Texas Association of Midsize Schools and has served on the Texas Education Agency's Commissioner's Cabinet. Recently, she served on the executive board for the East Texas regional chapter of Junior Achievement and the Highway 80 homeless shelter in Longview. Strauss has bachelor and master degrees from Texas State University and a doctorate from Texas A&M University. As a field services representative, Strauss works with Regions 12 and 13.
