Tier II Compliance and What it Means to You

The Tier II Chemical Reporting Program is administered by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) as a response to the Community Right-to-Know Program established by both the federal Emergency Planning & Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and the Texas Community Right-to-Know Act.  The Tier II program is reporting significant quantities of hazardous chemicals maintained at fixed facilities for emergency planning purposes.

TDSHS Asbestos Inspections: Is Your School Prepared?

The Texas Department of State Health Services is the state agency that enforces the Asbestos Hazardous Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and the Texas Asbestos Hazardous Protection Rule (TAHPR) in schools. Currently, twenty-six inspectors cover the state in 11 regions. They regulate asbestos issue fines for non-compliance up to $10,000 per day per violation of AHERA.
