OnSite

The Texas Department of Health requires all school districts either to have a licensed asbestos management planner on staff or contract with a company for management planner services.

OnSite (Environmental and Facilities Services) is a full-scale environmental program tailored to school districts that need professional assistance in meeting current regulatory requirements. Membership in OnSite includes services covering asbestos management, pest management, and indoor air quality. Reduced-rate services for certain analysis, training, and sampling also are available. Member districts receive unlimited toll-free phone consultations with experienced environmental professionals.

A new OnSite service, Unitizing Custodial Assignments, helps districts to define work staffing requirements and develop efficient custodial schedules in educational facilities.

All OnSite member districts are entitled to unlimited free training classes. A brochure with complete details can be provided to districts on request. At least two training sessions are held every year at TASB's Austin offices.

OnSite offers the following training:
  • Asbestos Designated Person Training
  • Environmental/Facilities Regulatory Compliance
  • Ground Maintenance/Turf Management
  • Integrated Pest Management Coordinator Training
  • Indoor Air Quality Training

Member districts receive a faxed quarterly newsletter, EnviroFax, which covers various environmental information pertinent to school districts. Districts may request printed copies instead.
