HR Services

Districts that become members of the HR Services program have access to publications, training, and expert consulting services in the area of human resource (HR) management.

Consulting

HR professionals provide consulting services to member districts in these areas:

Resources

The Member Library offers resources on HR topics and model forms and letters, and our online bookstore features publications and products available for purchase.

The Model Employee Handbook, a sample handbook that correlates to TASB Policy Manual policy codes, can be accessed by members on line and easily customized to match local policies. Model Job Descriptions, available for download, lists sample job descriptions for more than 140 titles.

An online newsletter, HR Exchange, provides current news and information on human resource issues and practices in public schools. Visit hrservices.tasb.org.

Salary Surveys

HR Services has been producing annual surveys on pay and benefits in Texas public schools since 1984. Members can access survey reports on statewide trend data, regional and enrollment group data, and data for hundreds of the most common positions in public schools. Also, districts can purchase a customized job market comparison (to compare salaries, incentives, pay raises, and specific job responsibilities to that of other districts) or a Superintendent Survey (detailing common components of superintendent pay and benefits).

Training

HR Services has a workshop to meet every need for those who deal with human resource issues at the school district level. Training is available in Austin, at regional workshops, and in members' home districts (neighboring districts can join in to reduce costs).
