Issues and Advocacy
The Texas Association of School Boards advocates on behalf of all Texas school districts, as guided by the Association’s Advocacy Agenda. TASB also provides a myriad of resources to help school board members advocate effectively on behalf of their school districts and aid policymakers in understanding how current and proposed laws impact their school districts.
 TASB’s Governmental Relations division provides a weekly legislative report, issue papers, bill summaries, contact tools to help board members interact with legislators, and advocacy resources to help empower trustees to become effective advocates for their school districts.
TASB’s Legal Services division provides explanations of the laws and regulations affecting Texas school districts through its collection of FAQs. HR Services provides salary and benefits data for school districts across Texas and produces a monthly newsletter explaining the HR issues affecting school district personnel, training, and consulting services. TASB Policy Service provides resources to help districts develop and adopt local board policies.
