Linda StoufferLinda Stouffer, a news anchor for CNN “Headline News,” joined the network in 1997. Stouffer, who co-anchors with Chuck Roberts, has covered, among other stories, the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the war in Iraq. Previously, Stouffer co-anchored the morning news program “Ahead of the Curve,” which aired simultaneously on CNN and the network’s former financial news network.

During Stouffer’s tenure with CNN, she has anchored coverage of the 2004 post-election saga over the disputed presidential ballots in Florida and ongoing developments in the Middle East. She also participated in “Headline News” millennium news coverage, reporting on first few time zones entering the year 2000.

Before working for CNN Worldwide, Stouffer was a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor for WSVN-TV in Miami from 1994 to 1996 and reported on the ValuJet crash in the Florida Everglades and Cuba’s shootdown of the Brothers to the Rescue planes. She also worked as a general assignment reporter from 1992 to 1994 at KMOL-TV in San Antonio, where she covered the Branch Davidian standoff in Waco.

Stouffer attended the University of the Incarnate Word on a Phi Beta Kappa scholarship and earned a bachelor’s degree in communication, graduating magna cum laude. Stouffer was San Marcos Junior Miss and Texas Junior Miss, and she continues to support the organizations’ scholarship programs. She is involved in many other volunteer efforts, including 2005 speaker at San Marcos High School’s “Shining Stars Gala” honoring distinguished high school scholars and their mentors.
