Peña Reelected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Gloria Peña of Arlington ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 11C.

\Peña joined the TASB Board in September 2008 and has been a member of the Arlington ISD Board since 2005, currently serving as the board vice-president. She attended Northwood University and earned a bachelor of business administration. Peña joined the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1983, where she is currently working as a program specialist.

TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.7 million public school students.
