Naron Reelected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Wes Naron of Plainview ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 17.
Naron joined his local board in 2006 and is the current vice-president. He is the director of training and development for NTS Communications Inc., and previously served for several years in a similar capacity for Wal-Mart Logistics. Naron attended West Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University. A former member of the Rotary and Lions Clubs, Naron has served as president of the Plainview Bulldog Booster Club and treasurer and vice-president of the Plainview Band Boosters, where he is currently president.
In addition, he is a member of the Plainview Civic Theatre and the West Texas Chapter for the American Society for Training and Development, serving as president in 2003. Naron also serves on the South Plains Association of Governments and is an Elder for First Presbyterian Church in Plainview. Naron and his wife have four children, all current or former products of Plainview schools.
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.7 million public school students.
