Hughey Elected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) -The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has elected Sandy Hughey of North East ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 20E.
A trustee since May 2000, Hughey presently is the board secretary and has held the positions of president and vice-president. She serves her community as director of the North East Educational Foundation, secretary of the Bexar County Coalition of School Boards, and member of the North East Council of PTAs. Hughey also is a proud 2002 graduate of Leadership TASB and a Master Trustee. She attended Sam Houston State University and is employed doing accounting work on a part-time basis.
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.7 million public school students.
