Peña Elected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) -- The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has elected Gloria Peña of Arlington ISD to a one-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 11C, large district member.
Peña joined the Arlington ISD board in 2005 and is currently serving as board secretary. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, she attended Northwood University and earned a bachelor of business administration. Peña joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1983, where she is currently working as a program specialist.
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.6 million public school students.
