Guajardo Reelected to Statewide Association Board

(Austin) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Manuel Guajardo Jr. of Texas City ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 4B.
\Guajardo joined the Texas City ISD board more than 10 years ago and served as president and vice-president. He was elected to the TASB Board in December 2001. He is a member of the Political Association of Spanish Speaking Organizations and the League of United Latin American Citizens.
A retired chemical operator for Goodyear Chemical Company, Guajardo is currently an active member of the College of the Mainland Advisory Board.
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.6 million public school students.
