Coker Reappointed to Statewide Association Board

(AUSTIN) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reappointed Ben Coker of Highland Park ISD to the TASB Risk Management Fund board of trustees.

Coker is past president of the Northeast Texas Association of School Business Officials and a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO), Texas Association of School Administrators, Association of School Business Officials International, and Government Finance Officers Association. He has worked closely with TASB in the areas of workers’ compensation, financial management, and policy. Coker is the assistant superintendent for business services with Highland Park ISD-Dallas County. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he earned his doctorate in education. Coker has completed the TASBO training requirements to be designated as a Registered Texas School Business Administrator.

The TASB Risk Management Fund is the largest provider of risk management coverage in the state of Texas. With over 1,100 members, the Fund provides coverage through its unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, and property/casualty programs. Services range from loss prevention and free member training events to online resources.
