Reyes Elected to Statewide Association Board

(AUSTIN) – The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has elected Martha “Marty” Reyes of Ysleta ISD to the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 19.
Reyes, with almost six years of experience on her local board, has served as vice-president and secretary. She also has been secretary of the Far West Texas School Board Association in Region 19. Active in her community, Reyes has served on the executive committee of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, El Paso Community College Foundation Board, and El Paso Southwestern Livestock and Rodeo Board. Reyes also served as an advisor for the Women’s Business Center and has been active in the El Paso Chamber of Commerce Board and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school districts. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 4.5 million public school students.
