Karen Freeman

Region 20B*

Karen Freeman was elected president of Northside ISD- Bexar County in May 2011. She has served on the board since May 2005 and held positions as vice-president and secretary.  Karen graduated with a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from the University of Central Florida.  She describes her current occupation as a community volunteer as well as working as an administrative assistant in her husband’s medical office practice.  

Freeman has four adult children who spent their K-12 years in Northside ISD and are now all college graduates.  She held various leadership positions in PTA and Booster Clubs when her children were in public school. Karen is an active member of the Bexar County School Board Coalition and graduated from Leadership TASB in 2009 as a Master Trustee.
